Dhritarashtra decides to crown Yudhishthir, as the King of Hastinapur

Karna assures Duryodhan that they can defeat the Pandavas in the war. 

 

Yudhishthir informs Dhritarashtra that he has to fight against Duryodhan, if he revolts against the Hastinapur kingdom. 

 

Dhritarashtra asks Yudhishthir to sacrifice his crown for Duryodhan. 

 

On learning about his devoir from Arjun, Dhritarashtra informs Yudhishthir that he will be crowning him, as the King of Hastinapur. 

 

Gandhari informs Kunti that she is sad on learning about Duryodhan's defeat against Drupada

In episode 64 of Mahabharat aired on 12th December 2013, 

 

Duryodhan demands Dhritarashtra to crown him the king

Dhritarashtra becomes devastated on learning about the defeat of the Kauravas. 

 

Gandhari tells Dhritarashtra that Yudhishthir is the rightful heir to the thrown of Hastinapur. 

 

Duryodhan challenges Yudhishthir for the throne, but Yudhishthir takes a vow of accepting the decision made by Dhritarashtra. 

 

Drupada becomes depressed about his defeat to the Pandavas. He humiliates Shikhandini. 

 

Duryodhan demands Dhritarashtra to crown him, as the king of Hastinapur. He blackmails Dhritarashtra for the same.

Episode 63

In episode 63 of Mahabharata aired on 11th December 2013, 

 

Ashwathama is crowned as the King of Panchal

Dronacharya recalls about his insult on seeing Drupada imprisoned. He reminds Drupada about the same. 

 

Later, Dronacharya informs Drupada that he has kept his promise. He orders Drupada to crown Ashwathama as the King of Panchal. 

 

On Dronacharya's insistence, Drupada crowns Ashwathama as the King of Panchal. Dronacharya asks the Pandavas to return to Hastinapur. 

 

 He returns half of his kingdom to Drupada. Dronacharya accepts Drupada, as his friend

Episode 62

In episode 62 of Mahabharata aired on 10th December 2013, 

Arjun breaks Drupada's trap and imprisons him

Duryodhan becomes shocked on seeing multiple replicas of Drupada. 

Drupada informs Duryodhan that he has imprisoned his brothers. He informs Duryodhan that his daughter, Shikhandini, will avenge her father's defeat. 

The Pandavas attack on Drupada's army. Yudhishthir asks Arjun to foil Drupada's trap. 

Later, Yudhishthir asks Sahdev to free the Kauravas. 

Duryodhan informs Yudhishthir that he does not want his support in the war. Arjun foils Drupada's trap and imprisons him.

Episode 61

In episode 61of Mahabharata aired on 9th December 2013,

Drupada imprisons the Kauravas

Drupada orders his commander, Shikhandini, to imprison the Kauravas and Pandavas. 

Later, Duryodhan informs Yudhishthir that he does not need support from the Pandavas, and that, only the Kauravas will be participating in the war. 

He informs the Pandavas that he will be the commander. 

Yudhishthir gives Duryodhan a chance to become the commander. 

The Kauravas attack Drupada's army. However, Drupada imprisons the Kauravas. 

Duryodhan becomes shocked on seeing multiple replicas of Drupada.

In episode 60 of Mahabharata aired on 6th December 2013, 

 

Ashwathama informs Duryodhan that Drupada's commander is immortal

Dronacharya informs the Kauravas and the Pandavas that he and Ashwathama will not be participating in the war. 

 

Later, Dronacharya tells the Kauravas that he will not allow them to go for the war, if they accept Karna's assistance for the same. 

 

The Kauravas and the Pandavas leave Hastinapur for the war, without Karna. 

 

Ashwathama informs Duryodhan that Drupada's commander is immortal. 

 

Drupada asks his commander to imprison the Kauravas and the Pandavas

Arjun assures Dronacharya that he will avenge his insult

Duryodhan and the Kauravas ask Dhritarashtra to order them to attack Drupada. 

 

A messenger informs Drupada that Dronacharya is planning to attack Panchal. 

 

Duryodhan and Karna prepare for the attack on Drupada. 

 

The Pandavas seek Kunti's blessings before leaving Hastinapur, for the war. 

 

Later, Duryodhan seeks blessing from Dhritarashtra and Gandhari. 

 

Shakuni informs Dhritarashtra about Amba.

In episode 58 of Mahabharata aired on 4th December 2013, 

 

Dhritarashtra refuses to send his sons for the war with Drupada

Bhishma recalls about Dhritarashtra, Pandu and Vidura's past life. 

 

Dronacharya advices Dhritarashtra not to select anyone amongst his students, as his successor. 

 

Vidura informs Dhritarashtra that he will not be able to select the successor, until Dronacharya receives his guru dakshina from his students. 

 

Dronacharya informs Dhritarashtra that he wants his students to attack on Drupada and avenge his insult. 

 

Dhritarashtra refuses to send his sons for the war with Drupada.

Shakuni vows to take revenge on Bhishma
Arjun apologises to Bhishma for raising a weapon against Karna. 

Bhishma feels guilty as he has failed to defend him. Bhishma expects Dhritarashtra to select an eligible successor. 

Lord Krishna preaches few human values. 

Ashwatthama informs Drona that Duryodhan will be selected as Dhritarashtra's successor. Duryodhan, Dushyasan and Karna insult the Pandavaas. 

Shakuni vows to take revenge on Bhishma by making Hastinapur, as corrupt as Gandhar.

Arjun apologises to Karna

Dhritarashtra asks Vidur to punish Arjun for raising the weapon against Karna. 

 

Vidur suggests Dhritarashtra that if Karna forgives Arjun then there is no need of punishing Arjun. 

 

Duryodhan suggests Arjun to apologise to Karna, by washing his legs. 

 

Later, Dhritarashtra informs everyone that he will be announcing his successor, the next day. 

 

Kunti becomes worried on seeing the enmity between Arjun and Karna. She decides to stop Arjun from taking revenge on Karna

Arjun raises a weapon against Karna

Dushyala introduces Subhadra to Kunti. 

 

Kunti enquires Subhadra about Krishna and Balaram. Subhadra becomes fascinated with Arjun. 

 

Dushyala requests Arjun to play a musical instrument. 

 

Duryodhan praises Arjun sarcastically, on seeing him playing the veena. 

 

Arjun and Bheem have an argument with Duryodhan and Karna. 

 

Later, Karna insults Arjun. Arjun raises a weapon against Karna. 

 

Later, Dhritarashtra confronts Arjun for the same and apologises to Karna on behalf of Arjun.

Karna vows to kill Arjun in a battle

Karna offers a lotus at Kunti's feet. Karna tells Kunti that Radha has refused to stay in his palace with him. He informs her that he is a better archer than Arjun. 

 

The Pandavas insult Karna. Kunti informs the Pandavas that Karna is like their elder brother. 

 

Karna vows to kill Arjun in a battle. Dhritarashtra praises Duryodhan's warrior skills.

 

Duryodhan asks Dhritarashtra to organise another competition, as the previous competition was without any result

In episode 53 of Mahabharata aired on 27th November 2013,

 

 Priyamvada requests Kunti not tell the Pandavas about Karna

Kunti feels dejected on learning that Karna is her son and repents for her mistake. She wants to inform Karna that he is her son. Priyamvada tries to stop her, but in vain. 

 

Radha and Sushen become dejected with Karna for his friendship with Duryodhan. 

 

Radha confronts Karna for accepting Duryodhan's offer to become a king. 

 

Priyamvada requests Kunti not to tell the Pandavas about Karna, till she meets him. 

 

The Pandavas spend some good time with Kunti. Yudhisthir enquires Kunti about her health.

Dhritarashtra announces Karna as a King of Anga

Duryodhan announces Karna as the King of Anga. 

 

Bhishma becomes furious at Duryodhan for the same. Dhritarashtra supports Duryodhan's decision and announces Karna as the King of Anga. 

 

Later, Duryodhan asks Karna to contest with Arjun. 

 

Kunti becomes shocked on seeing the armour on the body of a charioteer's son and recognises him as Karna. She recalls about Karna's birth. 

 

Arjun informs Karna that the contest is over. Priyamvada tries to prevent Kunti from meeting Karna.

Duryodhan announces Karna as a King

Arjun freezes Duryodhan in an iceberg. 

 

Dronacharya announces that Arjun is the world's greatest archer. Karna frees Duryodhan from the iceberg. 

 

Later, Karna informs Dronacharya to ask Arjun to contest with him. 

 

 Shakuni asks Arjun to accept Karna's challenge. Arjun informs Shakuni that he has accepted Karna's challenge.

 

Karna becomes furious at Kripacharya for not allowing him to contest with Arjun. 

 

Adhirath orders Karna not to contest with Arjun. 

 

Duryodhan announces Karna as a King.

In episode 50 of Mahabharata aired on 22nd November 2013, 

Shakuni informs about his plan against Arjun to Duryodhan

Yudhishthir refuses to contest against Duryodhan. Duryodhan wins the contest against Yudhishthir. 
On seeing the fight between Bheem and Duryodhan, Bhishma asks Dhritarashtra to stop the contest, but he refuses. 

Dronacharya disqualifies Bheem for breaking the rules of the contest and injuring Duryodhan. He announces that Duryodhan is the winner of the contest against Bheem. 

Shakuni informs Duryodhan about his plan against Arjun. Shakuni, Duryodhan and Ashwathama become shocked on seeing Arjun alive.

Duryodhan wins the contest against Nakul and Sahdev

Dronacharya begins the contest.

Karna starts learning the art of archery from Parashurama

Karna's Guru tells him to request Dronacharya to teach him the art of archery. 

 

Karna tells Dronacharya that he wants to learn the art of archery from him. 

 

On learning that Karna is a charioteer's child, Dronacharya refuses to teach him the art of archery. 

 

Karna becomes furious at Dronacharya for the same and challenges him that he will become the greatest archer. 

 

Karna lies to Parashurama that he is a Brahmin, to learn the art of archery. He starts learning the art of archery from Parashurama.

Arjun rescues Dronacharya from a crocodile

Dronacharya becomes sad and breaks the idol created by Eklavya. 

 

Duryodhan becomes furious at Arjun and blames Dronacharya for his injustice towards Eklavya. Arjun becomes enraged at Duryodhan for the same. 

 

Dronacharya asks Arjun to prove his ability as a great archer. 

 

On learning that Duryodhan blamed him for the injustice to Eklavya, Dronacharya tells Ashwathama to inform Duryodhan that he will never be unfair to any of his students. 

 

Arjun rescues Dronacharya from a crocodile.

Eklavya gives his right thumb to Dronacharya as Gurudakshina

Arjun follows a stranger and learns about Eklavya. 

Eklavya introduces himself to Dronacharya and seeks his blessings. He informs Dronacharya that he learns archery in front of his idol. 

Later, Eklavya demonstrates his archery skills to Dronacharya. Kripi enquires Dronacharya about Eklavya. 

Duryodhan asks Eklavya to become the commander of Hastinapur. 

On Dronacharya's insistence, Eklavya gives his right thumb to him as Gurudakshina. 

Dronacharya orders Eklavya to return to Magadh.

Duryodhan provokes Ashwathama against Arjun
Kaurava's make fun of Bheem. On seeing Arjun's archery skills, Dronacharya teaches him the art of archery. 

Later, Duryodhan pretends to care for Ashwathama and provokes him against Arjun. 

Duryodhan becomes furious at Bheem and fights with him for insulting Dushasan. 

Bheem falls in the marsh while fighting with Duryodhan. Arjun rescues Bheem, with his archery skills. 

Dronacharya promises Arjun that he will make him a great archer. He becomes enraged at Duryodhan and Bheem for fighting with each other.

Dronacharya teaches Arjun the art of archery

Duryodhan pretends to be furious at Dushyasan in front of Ashwathama. He promises Ashwathama that he will make him the Rajguru of Hastinapur. 

Kripi becomes enraged at Ashwathama for his rude behaviour with Dronacharya. 

Dronacharya promises Ashwathama that he will make him the King of Panchal. 

Dronacharya teaches Arjun the art of archery. Arjun takes blessings from Dronacharya.

Yudhishthir and Duryodhan seek Dhritarashtra and Bhishma's blessings

Dhritarashtra confronts Duryodhan for his misdeeds. However, Duryodhan defends his misdeeds. Dhritarashtra asks Duryodhan to study with Pandavaas at Drona's gurukul. 

Yudhishthir and Duryodhan seek Dhritarashtra and Bhishma's blessings before leaving for the gurukul. Kunti and Gandhari bid farewell to their children. 

Kunti asks Bheem and Arjun to protect their brothers. Arjun assures Kunti that he will take care of his brothers. The elders bless the princes. The princes reach Drona's gurukul

In episode 40 of Mahabharata aired on 8th November 2013, 

Bhishma sends Shakuni to Gandhar
Bheem vows to kill Duryodhan and his brothers. 

Kunti decides to relocate to Kuntibhoj. Bhishma stops Kunti and her sons. He instructs Dhritarashtra to bring Duryodhan to justice. 

Dhritarashtra apologises to Bhishma and agrees to appoint anyone as his successor. 

Bhishma informs Dhritarashtra that Drona will teach his sons for 12 years and instructs him not to contact them in the meantime. 

Dhritarashtra sends a message to Drona regarding the same. Bhishma sends Shakuni to Gandhar.

Episode 39

In episode 39 of Mahabharata aired on 7th November 2013, 

Kunti becomes delighted on seeing Bheem
Bhishma questions Duryodhan about Bheem's whereabouts. 

Shakuni informs Dhritarashtra that he found Bheem's belongings in a tiger's den. 

Thirteen days pass. 

Bheem arrives at the palace in disguise and has food offered during the death ceremony. However, he is not satisfied with the food served to him. Later, Kunti feeds food to Bheem. 

She becomes delighted on seeing him. Bheem informs Kunti that the king of snakes, Vasuki, rescued him and blessed him with the strength of hundred elephants.

Episode 38

In episode 38 of Mahabharata aired on 6th November 2013, 

Bheem becomes unconscious
Bheem becomes unconscious after consuming the kheer given by Duryodhan. 

Drona informs Dhritarashtra that he will teach his son, Ashwatthama, along with his sons and Pandavaas. Dhritarashtra does not want his sons to stay away from Hastinapur. 

Drona refuses to teach them in Hastinapur. Kripacharya tries to convince Drona, but in vain. 

Shakuni and Duryodhan push Bheem into the river. Bhishma instructs the soldiers to go in search of Bheem. Kunti prays to god for her son's well being.

Episode 37

In episode 37 of Mahabharata aired on 5th November 2013, 

Duryodhan and Dushyasan plan to kill Bheem

Arjuna questions Drona about his aiming skills. Dhritarashtra and Bhishma quarrel over the fight between the Pandavaas and Duryodhan. 

Duryodhan and Dushyasan plan to kill Bheem. Bhishma persuades Drona to stay at Hastinapur. Drona agrees to the same. Arjuna seeks Drona's blessings. 

Shakuni poisons the kheer, prepared for Bheem. Duryodhan offers the poisoned kheer to Bheem. 

Bheem offers Duryodhan to have the kheer first, but Duryodhan hesitates. Duryodhan tricks Bheem into eating the kheer.

Episode 36

In episode 36 of Mahabharata aired on 4th November 2013, 

Drona takes the ball out of the well

Lord Krishna preaches few human values. 

Duryodhan confronts the Pandavaas for making his brothers fall from the tree. 

Duryodhan and Dushyasan attack Bheem. Bhishma stops their fight and punishes them. 

Kunti asks her sons to share the punishment. 

Yudhishthir informs Kunti that Duryodhan and his brothers are unhappy by their arrival. 

Bheem unintentionally throws a ball at Dushyala's doll. Later, Dushyala throws the ball into a well.

Dushyasan and his brothers badmouth about Pandu

Bhishma asks the children to eat the food without bending their elbows. 

Yudhishthir feeds Duryodhan without bending his elbow. Bhishma suggests them to be united. 

Lord Krishna preaches a few human values. 

Bhishma suggests Dhritarashtra to send the children to gurukul. 

Bheem feels hungry and decides to have a mango, but Dushyasan and his brothers claim their rights on all the mango trees. 

Dushyasan and his brothers badmouth about Pandu. Bheem uproots all the trees.

Shakuni provokes Duryodhan against Bhishma

Shakuni pretends to take care of Dhritarashtra and provokes him against Bhishma.

Dhritarashtra promises and assures Duryodhan that he will be the next King of Hastinapur.

Later, Shakuni informs Duryodhan about his plan to throw the Pandavaas out of Hastinapur.

He provokes Duryodhan against Bhishma. Vidura informs Bhishma about Duryodhan's behaviour towards the Pandavaas.

Dushyasan makes fun of the Pandavaas. Vidura forces Duryodhan to allocate places for the Pandavaas in the dining room.

Episode 33

In episode 33 of Mahabharata aired on 30th October 2013, 

Shakuni informs Duryodhan that Pandavaas are his enemies

Kunti and her sons arrive at Hastinapur. She gets down from the chariot and walks towards the palace. She informs her sons about their hundred brothers and the elders. 

Shakuni informs Duryodhan that the Pandavaas are his enemies. 

Karna unintentionally seeks Kunti's blessings. 

Bhishma, Dhritarashtra and Gandhari welcome Kunti and her sons. 

Dushyasan asks the Pandavaas to seek blessings of his brothers. 

Meanwhile, Bhishma instructs Duryodhan and his brothers to seek blessings of Yudhishthir as he is elder to everyone.

In episode 32 of Mahabharata aired on 29th October 2013, 

Bhishma suggests Shakuni to return to Gandhar

Satyavati decides not to return to Hastinapur and asks Vidur to make Yudhishthir as the next ruler of Hastinapur. 

The citizens of Hastinapur are unhappy with Dhritarashtra's decision of appointing Duryodhan as his successor. 

Bhishma suggests Shakuni to return to Gandhar and asks him to convey to Dhritarashtra, not to appoint Duryodhan as his successor, till Pandu's sons come to Hastinapur. 

Shakuni persuades Dhritarashtra to convince Vidur to announce Duryodhan as his successor. 

Karna decides to learn archery and leaves Hastinapur.

Episode 31

In episode 31 of Mahabharata aired on 28th October 2013, 

Kunti becomes shocked on seeing Pandu dead

Pandu and Madri spend some romantic moments together. 

Kunti tries to stop them, but in vain. Kunti becomes shocked on seeing Pandu dead. 

Lord Krishna preaches a few human values. 

Satyavati becomes dejected on seeing Pandu's dead body. Madri sacrifices her life for being responsible for Pandu's death. Kunti becomes shocked on seeing Madri the same. 

Satyavati and Vidur become delighted on seeing the unity between Pandu's sons. Kunti and her sons return to Hastinapur.

Later, Satyavati informs Bhishma that she is going with Vidura to meet Pandu and bring him back to Hastinapur. 

Shakuni provokes Dhritarashtra against Satyavati and Pandu. 

Satyavati informs Vidura that she will convince Pandu to return to Hastinapur.

Episode 29

Shakuni lies to Dhritarashtra that the fishermen attacked Duryodhan

Vidura informs Dhritarashtra that Duryodhan has to apologise to the fishermen for his misdeeds. 

Shakuni lies to Dhritarashtra that the fishermen attacked Duryodhan and wounded him. 

Later, Dhritarashtra becomes furious at the fishermen on learning the same and orders to kill them. 

On Satyavati's request Dhritarashtra changes his decision to kill the fishermen and expels them from Hastinapur. 

Satyavati tries to prove the fishermen's innocence to Dhritarashtra.

Episode 28

In episode 28 of Mahabharata aired on 23rd October 2013, 

Bhishma becomes delighted by Karna's chariot driving skills
Gandhari gives birth to hundred baby boys. 

Fifteen years pass. 

Karna drives a chariot and wins the challenge with his excellent archery skills. 

Bhishma becomes delighted with Karna's chariot driving skills and awards him with hundred gold coins.

Kunti gives birth to Arjun
On observing extreme weather conditions during the birth of Dhritarashtra's first baby, Krupacharya suggests him to sacrifice the baby for the betterment of Hastinapur. 

Bhishma instructs Dhritarashtra to take decision regarding his baby's life. 

Dhritarashtra becomes delighted on taking the baby on his lap and names him Duryodhan. 

Indradev blesses Kunti with a baby boy, Arjun. 

Madri becomes jealous on seeing Kunti's children. Kunti teaches the mantras to Madri. 

Ashwini Kumars bless Madri with two baby boys.

In episode 26 of Mahabharata aired on 21st October 2013, 

Kunti gives birth to Bheem

Pandu requests Kunti to give birth to four more babies. 

Dhritarashtra decides to go on a war, but Bhishma stops him. Satyavati informs Dhritarashtra that Maharishi Vyasa can give lives to his hundred and one children. 

Maharishi Vyasa transforms the flesh delivered by Gandhari and informs her that she will become the mother of hundred boys and a girl. 

Meanwhile, Kunti worships Vaayudev and gets a baby boy. Vaayudev asks Kunti to name the baby as Bheem.

In episode 25 of Mahabharata aired on 18th October 2013, 

Shakuni tries to console Gandhari

Vidura informs Dhritarashtra, Satyavati and Bhishma that Kunti has given birth to a son. Dhritarashtra announces to celebrate the occasion. 

Later, Dhritarashtra expresses his displeasure to Gandhari and enquires her about her delivery. Shakuni tries to console Gandhari. 

A maid informs Gandhari that Dhritarashtra has ordered her female attendant Sukhada to go to his room. 

Gandhari becomes displeased on learning the same and asks Sukhada to obey Dhritarashtra's order.

In episode 24 of Mahabharata aired on 17th October 2013, 

Kunti bears a son from Lord Dharmraj

Pandu leaves Hastinapur with Kunti and Madri. 

Dhritarashtra becomes the acting King of Hastinapur. 

Dhritarashtra suspects that Gandhari has lied to him about the boon and expresses his displeasure. Kunti recalls about Rishi Durvasa's boon. 

She reveals to Pandu about Rishi Durvasa's boon. Pandu asks Kunti to use the boon and get a child from Lord Dharmraj. 

The astrologer informs Dhritrashtra about Gandhari's delivery. 

 Kunti bears a son from Lord Dharmraj. Pandu names the child as Yudhishtir..

Bhishma and Satyavati discuss about Pandu's decision

Bhishma tries to stop Pandu from renouncing his kngdom, but in vain. 

Pandu requests Bhishma to let him repent for his crime. Shakuni pretends to take care of Dhritarashtra and provokes him against Pandu. 

Gandhari becomes furious at Shakuni for the same. Pandu informs Kunti and Madri about Maharishi Kindam's curse. 

Kunti and Madri decide to accompany Pandu to the forest. 

Bhishma and Satyavati discuss about Pandu's decision. Bhishma asks Dhritarashtra to become the acting King.

In episode 22 of Mahabharata aired on 15th October 2013, 

Pandu kills Maharishi Kindam and his wife, by mistake

Dhritarashtra realizes his mistake and questions Gandhari whether she will accept him as her husband. While hunting, Pandu kills Maharishi Kindam and his wife, by mistake. 

Pandu apologises to Maharishi Kindam for the same. Maharishi Kindam curses Pandu that he will die, if he tries to be in a marital relationship with his wives. 

Satyavati informs Pandu about Gandhari's pregnancy. 

Pandu congratulates Dhritarashtra for the same. Pandu informs Satyavati about the mishap and renounces his kingdom.

Episode 21

Pandu dedicates his win to Dhritarashtra

Vidura informs Satyavati that Pandu has won the war. 

Satyavati becomes happy on learning the same and informs Vidura to make arrangements to welcome Pandu. 

Later, Vidura informs Satyawati that Pandu is returning to Hastinapur with his second wife. Pandu returns to Hastinapur with Madri. Kunti welcomes them. 

Pandu dedicates his win to Dhritarashtra. 

Satyavati asks Pandu to spend some time with his wives. Madri apologises to Kunti for her mistake.

Pandu informs Kunti about the war

Karna throws his bow and arrow into the river to please his father.

Pandu praises Kunti for asking the right question in her Swayamwar. 

Satyavati tries to stop Pandu from going for a war. Pandu informs Satyavati that he will not change his decision. Bhishma informs Pandu that he will lead the war. 

Dhritarashtra suggests Bhishma that Pandu has to take the lead. Pandu informs Kunti about the war and leaves Hastinapur. Gandhari tries to console Kunti. Kunti apologises to Gandhari for her behaviour.

Kunti decides to reveal the truth about her past to Pandu

Karna requests his father to allow him to welcome Pandu and Kunti, but he refuses. 

 

Shakuni informs Dhritarashtra that Pandu has returned to Hastinapur after getting married to Kunti. Gandhari welcomes Pandu and Kunti. 

 

Shakuni becomes furious at Pandu and provokes Dhritarashtra against him. He pretends to take care of Pandu in front of Dhritarashtra. 

 

Kunti decides to reveal the truth about her past to Pandu. Karna informs his father                        that King Pandu will reward him after seeing his art of archery.

Later, Dhritarashtra asks Gandhari not to welcome Pandu and Kunti. Priyamvada asks Kunti to hide about her past from Pandu. 

 

Karna saves a child. 

 

Radha informs Karna about Pandu and Kunti's arrival to Hastinapur. 

 

Vidura welcomes Pandu and Kunti.

Kunti recalls about the boon she got from Rishi Durvasa.

As Kunti is unmarried, she leaves the baby in a river. Suryadev gives Kavacha and Kundal to the baby. 

 

He assures Kunti that he will protect the baby and names him as Karna. 

 

Priyamvada tries to console Kunti. 

 

Kuntibhoj informs the Kings that the one who answers Kunti's question will be her husband. Pandu answers Kunti's question. Kunti gets married to Pandu.

Satyavati informs Bhishma that she suspects about Shakuni provoking Dhritarashtra. 

 

Bhishma advices Satyavati to get Pandu married. 

 

Kuntibhoj informs Kunti that he has organised a Swayamwar for her. 

 

Vidura informs Satyavati about the invitation from Kuntibhoj.

On Bhishma's advice, Pandu becomes the King of Hastinapur. 

 

Shakuni is angry with Bhishma for the same. He informs King Subala that he will stay in Hastinapur. 

 

Shakuni provokes Dhritarashtra against his family. Will Dhritarashtra forgive Shakuni for provoking him against the family?

Dhritarashtra learns that he is going to be crowned the King of Hastinapur.

Vidura stops Bhishma from handing over the throne to Dhritarashtra. Vidura tells Amba that Dhritarashtra is not worthy of being a king. 

 

Shakuni argues but Bhishma retaliates. 

 

Dhritarashtra becomes upset on learning about the same. 

 

Pandu tries to convince Dhritarashtra, but in vain.

 

 Dhritarashtra blames Pandu for framing him. Vidura advises Amba to crown Pandu as the King of Hastinapur.

Bhishma tells Satyavati that Dhritarashtra is not capable of ruling Hastinapur but Satyavati is not convinced.

Bhishma asks Gandhari, the reason for her decision. Gandhari explains and persuades them to accept her. 

 

Dhritarashtra marries Gandhari, for the welfare of Hastinapur. Gandhari requests her servant to remove all her jewellery.

She decides to marry Dhritarashtra. Shakuni tries to convince her, but in vain. Gandhari blows out all the lamps in her room, to adapt to her fear of darkness. 

 

Ambika tells Dhritarashtra that Gandhari is beautiful. Dhritarashtra becomes happy about the same. Gandhari decides to blindfold herself.

Shakuni dislikes Gandhari's marriage with Dhritarashtra

Shakuni comes to know about Gandhari's marriage with Dhritarashtra. 

 

Bhishma tells Ambika to start preparations for Dhritarashtra's marriage. Dhritarashtra shares his desire to ascend the throne of Hastinapur with Pandu. 

 

Gandhari is happy to marry Dhritarashtra. Dhritarashtra tells Pandu that Gandhari will be his eyes and nothing more. 

 

Lord Krishna preaches a few human values. 

 

Shakuni becomes furious with King Subala's decision. Gandhari comes to know that Dhritarashtra is blind.

Dhritarashtra comes to know about his marriage with Gandhari
Dhritarashtra fights with elephants to show his strength and abilities.

 

During the fight, Pandu helps him. This frustrates Dhritarashtra. 

 

Lord Krishna preaches a few human values. 

 

Vidura meets Dhritarashtra and Pandu and tells them that, only the righteous prince will be crowned the King of Hastinapur. This angers Dhritarashtra. 

 

Pandu convinces Dhritarashtra regarding Vidura's message. Dhritarashtra comes to know that he will be marrying Gandhari.

King Subala fears that Shakuni may object to Gandhari's marriage.

In episode 08 of Mahabharat, aired on 25th September 2013, 

 

Bhishma offers a marriage proposal for Gandhari
King Subala prepares his army for the attack. 

 

He gets to know that Bhishma is the one who is attacking Gandhara. Gandhari decides to join her father in the war. Lord Krishna preaches a few human values. 

 

King Subala is puzzled over Bhishma's visit. Bhishma seeks King Subala's friendship. Bhishma tells King Subala that he has a marriage proposal for Gandhari with Dhritarashtra. 

 

This worries King Subala, but Bhishma tries to convince him by offering Hastinapur. Gandhari feels happy about the proposal.

 Amba gets a rebirth as Shikhandini

Parashurama and Bhishma fight furiously.

 

Ganga pleads with Lord Shiva to stop the war between the two.

 

 Lord Shiva intervenes between Parashurama and Bhishma.

 

Amba seeks justice from Lord Shiva. She wishes for rebirth in order to take revenge on Bhishma. 

 

A girl is born to King Drupada and is named Shikhandini. King Drupada's father is happy that Shikhandini will take revenge on Bhishma. 

 

Lord Krishna preaches a few human values.

 

King Subala decides to find a suitable groom for Gandhari. Subala comes to know that Gandhara will be attacked.

Parashurama fights with Bhishma
 
Ambika and Ambalika's sons are named Dhritarashtra and Pandu. 

Bhishma interferes and requests Satyavati to name Ambalika's other son also. Hence Ambalika's second son gets the name Vidura. 

Amba returns to Hastinapur and asks Bhishma to choose either marriage or death. She also tells that Parashurama has summoned him. 

Lord Krishna preaches a few human values. 

Bhishma meets Parashurama and tries to explain but Parashurama orders him to fight.              The two fight rigorously.

Ambika and Ambalika give birth to boys
 
Vichitravirya dies under mysterious circumstances.  

Bhishma questions Suryanarayan about Vichitravirya's death and accuses him of destroying his family. 

Satyavati promises Ambika and Ambalika that their sons will ascend the throne with the help of Vyasa. 

Amba gains the attention of Parashurama. Ambika and Ambalika give birth to boys. 

Ambika's son is found to be blind, which leaves her devastated. Bhishma consoles her. Amba strives to seek justice.

Amba seeks revenge on Bhishma 

Satyavati admits to Amba that she had sent Bhishma to abduct her. 

Amba seeks justice. She orders Bhishma to marry her but he refuses as he has taken an oath. 

Amba swears that she will take revenge on Bhishma. 

She seeks the help of Parashurama. He refuses her request as Bhishma is his most trusted pupil. 

A grand ceremony is held for Vichitravirya's coronation. 

During the ceremony, Vichitravirya feels uncomfortable and he starts bleeding.

In episode 03 of Mahabharat, aired on 18th September 2013, 

Bhishma defeats King Salva Satyavati requests Bhishma not to be harsh with Vichitravirya. 

Later, she orders him to abduct the three daughters of King of Kashi, so that they can be married to Vichitravirya. 

Bhishma visits King of Kashi and asks him to hand over his three daughters to him, to get them married to Vichitravirya. 

King Salva challenges Bhishma but gets defeated. Amba wishes to marry King Salva. 

Bhishma takes the other two daughters with him. Amba storms to Hastinapur and orders Bhishma to marry her as King Salva had rejected her, since he had defeated King Salva.

 Bhishma saves Vichitravirya 

Bhishma takes an oath that he will step down from the throne, so that Satyavati can stay with Shantanu. 

Shantanu repents about the same and blesses Bhishma with powers. Later Vichitravirya is captured by the King of Panchal, for his misdeeds.

 Bhishma saves Vichitravirya from the King of Panchal. Queen Amba burns a field that comes in her way. Bhishma punishes Vichitravirya for his misdeeds but Satyavati interferes.

In Episode 01 of Mahabharat aired on 16th September 2013, 

Shantanu accepts Bhishma as his son Satyavati tries to prove herself to Shantanu by catching a fish. The people of Hastinapur are attacked by Rakshasas. Bhishma comes to save the people.

Later Shantanu comes to know from Ganga that Bhishma is his son and accepts him. Satyavati comes to know about Bhishma and becomes furious.

 Shantanu leaves Satyavati as she is angry with the presence of Bhishma. Shantanu announces that Bhishma is the Prince of Hastinapur. Bhishma visits Satyavati to convince her to stay with Shantanu.
